Shiatsu

Shiatsu is a form of acupressure and literally means "finger pressure" in Japanese. The techniques involve the use of the fingers, thumbs, palms, knees, forearms, elbows and feet. Unlike Swedish massage no oil is used, you are fully clothed, and it is given on the floor rather than on a table. It emphasizes correct positioning of the body by use of gravity. The treatment is both stimulating and calming, allows the recipient to relax deeply, and helps you get in touch with your own healing powers. By working the energy channel that runs through the body, an overall sense of well being can be achieved.
